A jewelry Designer, Thakoon Panichgul was debuted his jewelry line for the company. He said “I really wanted to just go back to the DNA of what Tasaki’s about, which is beautiful pearls, beautiful materials and beautiful diamonds,” he told Women’s Wear Daily. “I wanted to put some youthful spirit into pearls.” Prices for his line ranges from $5,000 to nearly $40,000 and will be available at Tasaki’s Ginza, Tokyo store in April. Panichgul expressed last month that he was honored to be appointed creative director of Tasaki and that the partnership will feed into his overall creative process. His past creative endeavors include teaming up with Gap in 2007 for Gap Design Editions — a limited edition collection for women designed exclusively for the retailer — and designing a Target line that was made available in stores on Christmas Day in 2008. During President Barack Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech last year, Michelle Obama chose to wear a floral Radzimir kimono dress from Panichgul pre-spring 2009 collection. Talk about ending the decade in a beautiful fashion.
